About David Robertson Decorators — Christchurch Painters Since 1991

Dietmar's day-to-day is simple in principle, demanding in practice — keeping every project running smoothly, customers informed, and the team in step. His family's painting legacy goes back to the 1960s, when his father Dieter founded the original business with a European eye for detail — a standard Dietmar carried forward as past President of Canterbury Master Painters. Outside of David Robertson Decorators, you'll usually find him on the slopes of Mount Hutt through the ski season and hiking in the mountains in the summer.

Nelson brings 14 years of experience in the painting and decorating industry, including three years working in Palmerston North, before building his career across residential and commercial projects throughout Christchurch and Canterbury. As Sales Manager at David Robertson Decorators, he combines extensive industry knowledge with a genuine commitment to helping clients achieve outstanding results. Outside of work, Nelson is a keen golfer who enjoys getting out on the course whenever he can and likes to think his handicap reflects his competitive streak.

Known for her warm and friendly approach, Brenda combines strong organisational skills with a thorough eye for detail to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. With extensive experience in customer service and client experience, she believes great communication and genuine care are at the heart of every successful project, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing clients delighted with the finished result. Brenda’s newly found love for gardening keeps her busy outside of work.

With 15 years of painting experience, Ryan takes great satisfaction in transforming tired or poorly finished paintwork into high-quality results, often adding the finesse needed to bring a project to life. Known for his attention to detail and ability to create nice straight lines and crisp, clean edges, he takes pride in delivering a professional finish and ensuring every customer is delighted with the end result. Outside of work, Ryan spends much of his free time at the park with his two young boys, keeping up with their endless energy, and sneaking in a round of golf when time allows.

Alfie is a BCITO-qualified tradesman with 14 years of painting and plastering experience in New Zealand, taking pride in delivering high-quality Level 4 and Level 5 plaster finishes and exceptional painting results. Passionate about his craft, he is committed to achieving the best possible outcome for every client and finds great satisfaction in seeing a project transformed by quality workmanship. Outside of work, Alfie enjoys coaching football, playing the game with his children, and spending time with his family.

Having started his painting apprenticeship at 18 years old, Karl is passionate about delivering quality workmanship and takes great satisfaction in seeing a project come together with a clean, professional finish. He understands the importance of working respectfully in clients' homes, building trust through clear communication and genuine care, and is often quickly befriended by the household dog. When he's not painting, Karl enjoys creating and repairing things with wood and vehicles, cooking (he makes a mean tomato sauce), and spending quality time with his partner, children, grandchildren, and friends.

With 10 + years of painting experience, Tai enjoys the variety that comes with the job, from working on different projects to meeting new people and helping clients achieve great results. Known for her keen eye for detail, strong work ethic, and trustworthiness in clients' homes, she takes pride in delivering her best work and seeing the difference a quality finish can make. Outside of work, Tai is a long-time tropical fish enthusiast, having kept fish for over 20 years, and enjoys photography, digital art, and spending time with her partner and their dogs.
